Anup Pradhan, MD.
Board-certified orthopedic surgeon. Vanderbilt MD, Duke fellowship. Former Chair of Orthopedics at Medical City Dallas. Six-time D Magazine Best Doctor. In practice in Dallas since 2012.
I started practicing in Dallas in 2012 after orthopedic surgery training at Vanderbilt and a fellowship at Duke. For six years I served as Chair of Orthopedics at Medical City Dallas. I've operated in academic hospitals, large multispecialty groups, and now a small independent practice — and I'm here for a reason.
The reason is simple: orthopedic decisions are personal. They sit at the intersection of evidence, biology, and what you want your life to look like next year. That conversation deserves a surgeon who knows you — not a workflow that processes you.
My clinical interest is the boundary between joint preservation and joint replacement: cartilage restoration in patients who've been told they're "too far gone," athletes recovering from ACL or rotator cuff injuries, second opinions before knee and hip replacement. I'd rather do the right operation than the obvious one.
The best surgery is the one you needed — done at the time you needed it, by someone who knows you.
